Joshua Jackson Explains Why He Thinks Infidelity Happens in Relationships, Reveals If Cheating Can Be Forgiven

“We’re all grownups. No one wants to be cheated on and there is massive repair to be done,” Joshua told The Times.

Joshua reflected on deeper reasons for affairs rather than superficial ones. “Affairs aren’t about the partner, they’re about the person who has transgressed. It’s not purely about the sex. There’s a deeper violation,” he said.

In 2019, Joshua married Jodie Turner-Smith. The couple welcomed a baby girl into the world in April 2020.

In 2016, Joshua and Diane Kruger broke up after ten years as a couple.

Joshua says meeting Jodie Turner-Smith changed his mind about marriage and having children. “Partially, it’s age. I’m old enough to be able to do this. Partially it’s about finding somebody in the right moment of life,” he said.

“If we had met five years earlier we probably would have had a torrid affair, but all the rest of this stuff, I was just not ready. I didn’t think I ever wanted to get married,” Joshua said.

Fatal Attraction is a deep-dive reimagining of the classic psychosexual thriller and ‘80s cultural movie and premieres on Paramount+ on April 30.
