Old Couple in 'Guardians of the Galaxy 3' Credits Photos Revealed to Be James Gunn's Parents!

While the credits are rolling after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, there are scrapbook-style photos that are shown and one photo is causing some confusion among viewers.

One of the last ones we see is an old couple with cameras.

So, who are the people in that photo and what is their significance to writer and directer James Gunn?

They’re his parents – James F. Gunn and Leota Gunn!

James‘ father passed away in 2019 and in the credits, there’s a note honoring James Gunn Sr.

His parents both had a cameo appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and they were credited as “Weird Old Man” and “Weird Old Man’s Mistress.”

James said on Twitter years ago about that scene, “Also, my brother, his wife & their 3 kids were right beside them, and were all mowed down by Ego. My niece and brother-in-law were yellow aliens also mowed down. And my niece Grace was the pink alien who was the 1st life form Ego met. My family loves getting killed in my movies.”

Did you know that James‘ brother Sean Gunn is the actor who plays Kragglin in the movies? He also provided the motion capture performance for Rocket Raccoon.
