Former Disney casting director Jen Rudin revealed that EGOT-winner Jennifer Hudson wanted the role during an interview with Page Six.

Aside from her career as a vocalist and talk show host, Jennifer has starred in the likes of Dreamgirls (alongside Anika) and Respect. It is unclear how far along she got in the audition process. In 2013, she got the chance to channel Tiana in a dream portrait with Disney.
