Julie Chen Moonves Claims CBS Forced Her Out of 'The Talk' Amid Husband's Scandal

It has been exactly five years since Julie Chen Moonves left her hosting gig on The Talk and now she’s sharing the real story behind what happened.

The 53-year-old television personality and Big Brother host was one of the original co-hosts of the CBS daytime talk show, but she left the series in September 2018 after her husband Les Moonves was accused of sexual assault and violence.

At the time, Les was the CEO of CBS and he left his position after the allegations went public.

When Julie announced her departure from The Talk, she made it seem like it was her decision as she felt she needed to “spend more time at home with my husband and our young son.” Well, now she’s telling a different story.

In her new audio memoir “But First, God,” Julie reveals that her CBS colleagues decided that she needed to leave the show.

“Yeah, I never revealed that until ‘But First, God.’ That was a hard time. I felt stabbed in the back. I was, you know?” she said on Good Morning America. “I don’t know if I could’ve reconciled if I didn’t have God in my life.”

Julie was asked if she ever asked her husband about the allegations. She responded, “That’s not what we’re here to talk about. But of course. Yeah. I know my husband. You know? I know my husband.”

Julie recently revealed which TV personality was originally offered the Big Brother hosting job.
