Robert De Niro, 80, Talks Co-Parenting His Infant Daughter With Tiffany Chen, Reveals If He Thinks About Death

When asked how things were going with his daughter, Robert said it was “going Ok,” adding, “You never know what’s going to happen. [Kids] surprise you.”

“It doesn’t get easier,” he continued. “It is what it is. It’s OK. I mean, I don’t do the heavy lifting. I’m there, I support my girlfriend. But she does the work. And we have help, which is so important.”

He said that he enjoyed “all” aspects of fatherhood, noting, “it’s different to with my 11-year-old. My adult children. My grandchildren. It’s all different.”

The actor provided some clarity about what made things different: “Well, I don’t talk to the adult children the way I talk to my baby. Or the way I speak to my 11-year-old, though she’s pretty smart.”

Tiffany has previously revealed an unexpected and scary condition she developed after giving birth.
