The 30-year-old The X Factor 2016 winner opened up for the first time about his sexuality in 2024.
“I’m very proud [of my sexuality], and I’m no longer afraid,” he told GAY TIMES along with the release of his single “His Car,” along with an apology to the first man he ever fell in love with.
“I said to him, ‘You’re not allowed to tell anyone about this’ and he loved me enough to do so. It’s such a regret of mine, and I’m just really sorry,” he said of his secret romance while navigating fame from the TV show.
“I live now with an open mind and open heart, and I feel like we should all live by the statement that we all say: love is love.”
In an interview with GQ, Hunter Schafer was talking about her relationships.
She confirmed she dated Rosalía for about five months in 2019, with Rosalía‘s consent to share the info in the interview.
“It’s been so much speculation for so long. Part of us just wants to get it over with, and then another part is like, ‘It’s none of anybody’s f-cking business!’”
She added that “it’s something I’m happy to share. And I think she feels that way too.”
The two were recently spotted furniture shopping together and remain close friends. “She’s family no matter what,” Hunter said.
