Broadway Stars to Record Song for LGBT Community

Broadway is coming together for a great cause.

According to People, some of the biggest names in theater – Sara Bareilles, Roger Bart, Kristen Bell, Wayne Brady, Matthew Broderick, Michael Cerveris, Gloria Estefan, Sutton Foster, Whoopi Goldberg, RenĂ©e Elise Goldsberry, Joel Grey, Sean Hayes, Heather Headley, Megan Hilty, Bill Irwin, Carole King, Jane Krakowski, Nathan Lane, Zachary Levi, Andrea Martin, Audra McDonald, Idina Menzel, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Jessie Mueller, Rosie O’Donnell, Kelli O’Hara, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rosie Perez, Bernadette Peters, Billy Porter, Chita Rivera, Lillias White, Marissa Jaret Winokur, BD Wong, and more – are set to record a cover of Jackie DeShannon‘s 1965 song “What the World Needs Now is Love” in support of the LGBT community.

This of course comes in the wake of the tragic Orlando shooting that cost 49 people their lives and countless others injury.

The track will be available for download on Monday, June 20, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the LGBT Center of Central Florida.
