The Weeknd Is Considering Dropping His Stage Name

The Weeknd is known for his stage name, but he might be returning to his real name Abel Tesfaye in the future!

The 27-year-old singer likes to use the stage name to help keep a mystery about him.

“I’m not in a rush to let people know everything about me. Mystery is always great,” he told Harper’s Bazaar. “Luckily, the only thing the world demands of me is music. I don’t have to give them anything else for the rest of my life.”

The Weeknd is considering retiring his stage name though.

“Kind of like pulling a Ziggy Stardust. Maybe I’ll retire from being The Weeknd,” he said, adding, “maybe I’ll just give him a break.”
