Jason Statham Exits 'The Man From Toronto' Four Weeks Before Production

Jason Statham is not starring in The Man From Toronto, after all.

The 52-year-old actor is exiting the project approximately four weeks from the start of production, Deadline reported on Tuesday (March 3).

The action-comedy film is set to star Kevin Hart and be directed by Patrick Hughes.

“He had some creative issues, sources said, including a desire for the film to be R rated. That didn’t dovetail with the studio’s desire to have it be a more inclusive PG-13 release for a November 20 release leading into the Thanksgiving holiday corridor,” Deadline says.

The studio is reportedly already working on bringing in an actor to replace Jason, and plans to keep Kevin in place.

Here’s a plot summary: “The world’s deadliest assassin — known as ‘The Man from Toronto’ — teams up with Teddy, New York’s biggest screw-up, when they are mistaken for each other in a rented Airbnb. The Man from Toronto and Teddy are forced to team up and save the day, but the real question is, will they survive each other?”

Jason Statham recently stepped out with wife Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for this romantic date night outing.
