Cody Simpson Voices Frustration Over Australia's COVID-19 Lockdown, Questions If It's Necessary

Cody Simpson is sharing some “food for thought.”

On Wednesday (August 4), the 24-year-old singer turned pro swimmer took to Twitter to voice his frustrations over his home country of Australia going under lockdown as the COVID-19 delta variant spreads across the country.

“Making the most of Aussie lockdown. We can’t train at our pool all week,” Cody started. “But more importantly most people have had to shut their businesses.”

“It’s a curious and complex argument but I hope the world can open again soon and we can go back to normal life,” he continued. “If politicians and bureaucrats had to sacrifice their salaries or take pay cuts during lockdowns I wonder how long they’d last? Food for thought.

Cody continued,” Fear is the best weapon others have in destroying wide-open awareness and freedom. Turn off the news and go outside!”

Cody concluded his message by writing, “The world is changing and the best armour we have is a healthy lifestyle and sustainable decision making.”

For the past year, Cody has been working hard at becoming a pro swimmer. Back in June, Cody competed in his first Olympic trials, but unfortunately didn’t qualify to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
