Jamie Dornan opened up about one of the roles that got away and his feelings about the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise.

The 41-year-old actor starred in the romance series based on E.L. James‘ novels alongside Dakota Johnson between 2015 and 2018. Before he was cast, though, Charlie Hunnam was awarded the role.

While on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Jamie explained that he felt a sense of “relief” when he wasn’t cast initially. He broke down some of his hesitations about taking on the job.

Jamie also revealed the one superhero role that he auditioned for and was sad not to get.

Jamie Dornan is opening up about filming some of the sexier scenes in 50 Shades of Grey.

While making an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the 34-year-old actor explained how he made those intense scenes a little more lighthearted.

“My temptation is always just to try to make Dakota laugh, so sometimes I’ll do things like, when there’s a moment where I’m meant to, you know, orgasm, I’ll be like, ‘Doo doo doo dah do!’” Jamie explained.

He also spilled on the new film 50 Shades Darker, adding with a laugh that “there’s probably more sex” in the film!
