Blink-182's Travis Barker Thinks Tom DeLonge Should 'Man Up & Quit'

Travis Barker recently shared his honest thoughts on former Blink-182 band mate Tom DeLonge, who left the band in January.

Travis added, “I think the right thing for him to do would just man up and quit the band instead of telling people he didn’t quit and just be real with the fans.”

Blink-182 is set to perform their first show without Tom at Travis‘ Musink festival in Orange County, Calif. on Sunday, March 22.

Blink-182's Tom DeLonge Writes Letter to Fans After 'Quitting'

Tom DeLonge has written a very lengthy letter to his fans after reports surfaced of him quitting the band Blink-182.

The news broke on Monday after his bandmates Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker released a statement saying that Tom has quit the band and they found a replacement.

Tom then released a statement of his own saying that there was miscommunication and he had not quit the band.

“I love Blink and am incredibly grateful for having it in my life,” Tom writes in his new letter posted on his Facebook page. “It has given me everything. EVERYTHING. I started this band, it was in my garage where I dreamed up the mischief.”

Tom DeLonge Says He Didn't Quit Blink-182: New Statement!

Tom DeLonge has just released a statement of his own saying he has not quit the band Blink-182.

The news spread after a statement was released by his bandmates Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus saying that Tom has decided to pursue solo and non-musical opportunities.

“To all the fans, I never quit the band. I actually was on a phone call about a blink 182 event for New York City at the time all these weird press releases started coming in…” Tom wrote on his Facebook page. “Apparently those releases were ‘sanctioned’ from the band. Are we dysfunctional- yes. But, Christ….. ‪#‎Awkward‬ ‪#‎BabyBackRibs‬.”

No word yet on whether Tom will appear at the band’s upcoming appearance at the Musink Tatto & Music Festival in March, but we’ll keep you update if news breaks!

Tom DeLonge Quits Blink-182 - Read the Band's Statement

Tom DeLonge, the longtime guitarist of Blink-182, has decided to quit the band.

The news was announced by the band’s remaining members Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus.

“We were all set to play this festival and record a new album and Tom kept putting it off without reason,” the guys said in a statement (via THR). “A week before we were scheduled to go in to the studio we got an email from his manager explaining that he didn’t want to participate in any Blink-182 projects indefinitely, but would rather work on his other non-musical endeavors. No hard feelings, but the show must go on for our fans.”

Tom will be temporarily replaced by Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio for the band’s performance at the 2015 Music and Tattoo Festival.

UPDATE: Tom released a statement saying he did not quit the band.
