Criminal Minds is one of the most popular CBS shows of the 2000s and streaming service Paramount+ brought the show back for the revival series, Criminal Minds: Evolution.

Season one of the revival show debuted in November 2022 and the season finished airing back in February. A second season has already been ordered thankfully!

The new series follows “the FBI’s elite team of criminal profilers [as they] come up against their greatest threat yet, an UnSub who has used the pandemic to build a network of other serial killers. As the world opens back up and the network goes operational, the team must hunt them down, one murder at a time.”

Six beloved actors are returned for the revival, two fan-fave stars did not coming back, and one popular actor was added to the show.

One of those actors who didn’t return has hinted he may come back for season two though!

Criminal Minds: Evolution is coming back for more!

Paramount+ has renewed Criminal Minds: Evolution for another season at the beginning of 2023.

The revival of the 2005 television series, which ended in 2020, follows members of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) as they are faced with a network of serial killers built during the pandemic.

The new series premiered on November 24 on Paramount+, with lots of original stars returning – and some who didn’t.

Criminal Minds: Evolution is returning for a second season at Paramount+!

“We’re thrilled to bring even more twisted storylines to our loyal fans of Criminal Minds: Evolution with the order of another season,” Tanya Giles, chief programming officer of Paramount Streaming, in a statement (via Deadline). “The series has always been a consistent top performer for Paramount+ and fans have quickly embraced this new season with its more serialized elements. There are still many dark twists and turns yet to come for the BAU this season and we can’t wait for fans to see what’s in store.”

Criminal Minds: Evolution will premiere on the streaming service in Fall 2022. The original series ran for 15 seasons on CBS and ended in 2020.

The beloved CBS series Criminal Minds, which became a giant success on Netflix as well, is returning to television later this year.

Paramount+ has ordered a revival series of Criminal Minds and a bunch of your favorite stars will be back for the new episodes, though two series regulars have confirmed they are not returning.

The revival series began filming earlier this month and one of the cast members already shared a photo from set.
