This Is Us Season 4 just came to an end with Strangers: Part Two – and there’s a lot to discuss. Warning: spoilers ahead!

Creator Dan Fogelman opened up about the new details regarding main characters, and talked about where Season 5 will go, in an interview with People.

“We have a big storyline planned for Mandy [Moore] in the next coming season in present day as an older woman and her past timelines. Particularly, when we land in St. Louis with her, kind of exploring with Miguel (Jon Huertas)…here is the opportunity where we’re going to be bringing them in a location together and undergo this treatment that they didn’t necessarily plan on trying.”

“It will also allow us to get towards, which has always been the plan in the back part of our series, further understanding how their relationship bloomed then stalled then bloomed again and really getting inside their lives,” he went on to reveal.

“I’m very excited about, especially with where the world is right now, the uplift, and I would call it almost rebirth, that comes next season. Kind of rebirth and a lot of new beginnings, particularly for birth and rebirth would be a big thematic part of next season,” he teased.

“There’s going to be something big in the season premiere.”

The 35-year-old actress looked pretty in a brown dress as she promoted what’s still to come this season on This Is Us.

Also in attendance were fellow co-stars Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, and Chris Sullivan along with showrunner Dan Fogelman.

During the panel, Justin reflected on the importance of self-care after his split from wife Chrishell Stause.

This Is Us returns for the second half of season four on Tuesday, January 14 at 9/8c on NBC.

The cast of This Is Us is brunching – and spilling secrets about Season 4!

The stars of the hit NBC drama were all in attendance at the Pancakes With the Pearsons brunch at 1 Hotel West Hollywood on Saturday (August 10) in West Hollywood, Calif.

During the event, creator Dan Fogelman joined Susan Kelechi Watson and Justin Hartley, who play Beth and Kevin Pearson, to talk about what to expect in the next season of the show.

“I would say that there’s a lot of secret new cast members who are going to be a big deal, coming up, so that’s one part. I would say there’s going to be a big announcement or release about it at the end of this month. I would say that in the series, we have what I call little markers, little stakes we put in the ground that serve as grounding points for the whole arc of the whole series, and I would say our first two episodes of this season are two of those. So, it’s a big, bold, potentially polarizing—but in the best possible way—start to the season,” Dan teased.

Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Chris Sullivan, Milo Ventimiglia, Michael Angarano, Ron Cephas Jones, Mandy Moore and composer Siddhartha Khosla all spoke at the event as well about the show’s evolution and their character development.

Season 4 of This Is Us airs on September 24.
