The latest saga in the Fast & Furious franchise is nearly upon us!
F9 is hitting theaters on June 25.
Here’s a plot summary for the ninth installment in the series: “Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena).
F9, the ninth movie in the Fast & Furious series, just had its release date pushed back again.
The film was originally supposed to hit theaters in May 2020 and was one of the first movies to be delayed when the pandemic struck. It was initially pushed to April 2, 2021 and then the studio moved it to May 28, 2021 after the James Bond movie No Time to Die was moved to that date.
Now, Universal has decided to push the film again to June 25, 2021.
Jared Leto‘s Venom 2 was scheduled to be released on June 25 and now fans are worried they’re going to wait even longer to see that movie. It was originally supposed to hit theaters in October 2020, but was also delayed due to the pandemic.
It’s likely that Sony Pictures will decide to move the Venom 2 release date so it’s not competing with another major movie.

The -year-old actor and musician played Tej Parker in the movies, starting with 2 Fast 2 Furious.
During a virtual interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show with guest host Tiffany Haddish, Ludacris revealed he’s not all that sad.
“Man, they just announced that. We’re gonna end on 10 and 11,” he shared. “Me personally, I thought we were going to end on 10. But I’m not at all sad about it.”
Ludacris added his reason: “‘Cause you gotta think about it: I came out in 2 Fast 2 Furious, we never knew we were gonna get a call back for [Fast & Furious] 5. Now I been in 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. And now they’re telling me there’s gonna be two more? I’m happy!”
It was just announced that Universal Pictures is planning on ending the franchise after an 11th movie, according to Deadline.

Now, the movie has been delayed again to May 28, 2021, which is Memorial Day weekend.
The news was announced just two hours after MGM revealed that the next Bond movie, No Time to Die, had been pushed back from November 2020 to April 2. It’s definitely not good to have two major movies out on the same day!
