The 2009 movie Law Abiding Citizen, which starred Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler, is getting a sequel.

While it doesn’t sound like either actor is officially attached to star in the sequel, Gerard is confirmed to be a producer on the upcoming movie.

The original movie “followed assistant district attorney Nick Rice’s (Foxx) pursuit of Clyde Shelton (Butler), a frustrated father who implements an elaborate and twisted plan to bring down the entire judicial system in Philadelphia after a plea bargain sets free the man who murdered his wife and daughter.”

The sequel is in the works following the film’s success on Netflix last year. It was added to the streamer in December 2021 and became one of the three most viewed movies of that month, following only two of Netflix’s original movies.

Gerard Butler sticks his hands in his pockets while on a stroll with girlfriend Morgan Brown in New York City on Friday (April 29).

The longtime couple made a rare appearance out together while out running some errands together.

The last time that Gerard and Morgan were seen out publicly together was back in July last year. The two were seen heading out to a dinner together in Los Angeles.

Before that, Morgan and Gerard were spotted on the beach having some fun in the sun.

Just recently, Gerard wrapped up filming on his upcoming movie, The Plane, which filmed in Puerto Rico.

Gerard is also set to start filming on two more movies in the coming year – a Den of Thieves sequel and a thriller heist flick titled Just Watch Me.

Gerard Butler is spending the night at the 2022 Coachella Music Festival!

The 52-year-old Olympus Has Fallen actor was spotted walking around the desert to check out the different performers at Night 3 of the music festival on Sunday night (April 17) in Indio, Calif.

For his outing, Gerard sported a tan leather jacket over a gray button-up shirt paired with olive-colored pants.

Several days before, Gerard was spotted wearing a wide-brimmed hat as he arrived at The Belmont restaurant for dinner in West Hollywood.

Gerard Butler looks like he had a great time at the Abu Dhabi F1 GP Auto Race!

The 52-year-old actor was spotted out at the racing event held at the Yas Marina Circuit track in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Saturday (December 11).

Gerard watched on as Max Verstappen won his first Formula One championship by passing Lewis Hamilton on the final lap, which fans and officials have been talk about non stop.

Lewis actually had the lead in most of the race, but then a crash with five laps left changed everything. Max, 24, became the first-ever Dutch champion and this is his first world title.

Gerard wore a bright yellow VIP tag around his neck as he checked out a few of the pits before the race.

Just a few months ago, Gerard was seen filming his new movie, The Plane, in Puerto Rico.

Ryan Reynolds is definitely aware of Gerard Butler!

The 44-year-old Free Guy star reacted to the 51-year-old Greenland actor’s recent comments on Tuesday (September 21).

If you didn’t know, Gerard was asked about the comparisons of Gamer to Ryan‘s current movie, Free Guy.

“I actually don’t know what Free Guy is,” he said at first, adding “Oh s–t is it… I don’t watch Ryan Reynolds movies.”

Now, Ryan Reynolds is reacting on social media – and revealing a donation to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and ACLU.

“Can you believe Gerard Butler doesn’t know what Free Guy is? Also, can you believe that the challenges to democracy have never been greater and that Blake [Lively] and I will match your contributions to the @aclu_nationwide and @naacp_ldf? *Order of these questions optimized for the Internet, NOT importance,” he amusingly captioned the post, which showed the stories side-by-side on Twitter.

The Legal Defense Fund announced that the couple is matching all gifts up to $1 million, split between the LDF and ACLU through October 8.
