Jason Bateman is teasing the end of Ozark!

The 51-year-old actor knows what’s in store for the fourth and final season of the Netflix drama, he confirmed in an interview with IndieWire.

Jason, who is not directing episodes of Season 4 and does not write the series, spoke about what’s coming next.

“I do know where everything is going to end,” he confirmed.

“The specifics leading up to it, I didn’t really grind him on. But I was interested in the big question he has the opportunity to answer: Are they going to get away with it, or are they going to pay a bill? What does he want to message to the audience about the consequences of what the Byrdes have done — or lack thereof? We had some great conversations about that, and he’s got really good ideas about that. Specifically, what kind of happens at the end of the last episode: I know, and it’s great.”

The 16-year-old Stranger Things star is in talks to star in and produce a movie adaptation of Tess Sharpe‘s novel, The Girls I’ve Been, for Netflix, Deadline reported Tuesday (July 28).

Jason Bateman is also on board to produce.

The novel is described as “a twisty, exhilarating thriller centering around a con artist, Nora, who must use her powers of persuasion and impersonation to get herself, her girlfriend, and ex-boyfriend free during a hostage situation at a bank.”

Netflix also landed the rights to Millie Bobby Brown‘s next feature film, Enola Holmes, earlier in the year. Find out more about it!

Jason Bateman heads out for a jog in his Los Angeles neighborhood earlier in the week.

The 51-year-old actor recently opened up about the future of his Netflix series, Ozark.

“There is not an official pickup for Season 4,” he told Collider in a recent interview about the fan favorite show. “We’re all operating under the hope it will happen.”

“It’s Netflix’s norm to wait for a show to premiere and collect the data for weeks 2, 3, and 4, and see if there’s an audience there to justify an additional season,” Jason says “But, I know Chris [Mundy, showrunner] and his team are hard at work figuring out what that fourth season would be if that official pick-up lands.”

Jason adds that he’s thinking that the series will run for five seasons.

“There’s been this sort of character arc that [Mundy] has been incredible at staying on…I think there’s always been the presumed area [of] three seasons, four seasons, five seasons, something like that. [Ozark] was never going to be a limited series of just 10 episodes,” he shared.

The 33-year-old actress was joined at the event by co-stars Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka, Julianne Nicholson, Yul Vazquez, Paddy Considine, Sir Brodie, and Derek Cecil.

Cynthia starred in the recent movie Harriet and she received acting nominations from the Golden Globes, the Critics’ Choice Awards, and the SAG Awards… but the BAFTAs snubbed her of a nomination. Not only that, but the BAFTAs only nominated white actors this year.

“It’s disappointing to see that we’ve got to this point in time and we’ve had such wonderful advancement in inclusion and diversity, and the films this year were beautiful, such wonderful stories told, and to not have that represented in an awards show like the BAFTAs is just disappointing really,” Cynthia told Variety in response to the non-diverse nominees.

Cynthia was asked to perform at the BAFTAs, but she declined to perform after seeing the list of nominees.

“The reason I didn’t perform is because I don’t think it’s proper representation, as a woman of color, of people of color in this industry,” she said.
