Andrew Garfield and Lauren Ambrose step out to accept their awards at the 2018 Outer Critics Circle Theatre Awards on Thursday (May 24) at Sardi’s in New York City.

The winners of the awards were announced a couple weeks ago and the recipients gathered to accept their prizes.

Andrew won Outstanding Actor in a Play for Angels in America and Lauren won Outstanding Actress in a Musical for My Fair Lady.

The other winners in attendance included Three Tall Women‘s Glenda Jackson (Outstanding Actress in a Play) and Laurie Metcalf (Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play), SpongeBob SquarePants‘ Ethan Slater (Outstanding Actor in a Musical), Angels in America‘s Nathan Lane (Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play), My Fair Lady‘s Norbert Leo Butz (Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical), Carousel‘s Lindsay Mendez (Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical), and Harry Clarke‘s Billy Crudup (Outstanding Solo Performance).

Tina Fey was joined by husband Jeff Richmond to accept Outstanding Book of a Musical for Mean Girls.

Other stars in attendance included Christine Ebersole, Martha Plimpton, Come From Away‘s Jenn Colella, and SpongeBob‘s Danny Skinner.

Outstanding New Broadway Musical went to SpongeBob SquarePants and Outstanding New Broadway Play went to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

The stars both were winners – Kat won Favorite Replacement (Female) for work in the musical Waitress and Tina‘s new show Mean Girls won Favorite New Musical.

Tina was joined by husband Jeff Richmond, who wrote the music for Mean Girls. He picked up the award for Favorite New Song for “I’d Rather Be Me.”

After the event, the trio was joined by Kat‘s boyfriend David Foster for dinner at a nearby restaurant. They had an early meal as she had to get to the theatre for a 7pm curtain!

The happy couple were joined at the event by their Mean Girls stars Taylor Louderman, Grey Henson and Ashley Park, Angels in America‘s Andrew Garfield, Nathan Lane and Denise Gough, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child‘s Jamie Parker, Noma Dumezweni and Anthony Boyle, Lobby Hero‘s Michael Cera and Brian Tyree Henry.

Also in attendance were Denzel Washington, Laurie Metcalf, Condola Rashad, David Morse, The Band’s Visit stars Tony Shalhoub, Katrina Lenk and Ari’el Stachel, Children of a Lesser God‘s Lauren Ridloff, Ariana DeBose, and My Fair Lady‘s Lauren Ambrose and Harry Hadden-Paton.

This year, Mean Girls received the most nominations with 12 total: “It’s incredibly thrilling. I am just ecstatic that these nominations are coming to every department — they’re so well deserved,” Tina expressed (via NY Times). “And I cannot lie: I cried a little bit in the middle of Equinox this morning, and not because my workout was too hard — I do not push myself at the gym.”

“It’s our day off from the show so I was trying and failing to sleep inasmuch as possible,” Andrew added about when he found out. “But I was, of course, excited just knowing that the nominations were coming out today. I’m usually very good at turning my phone off and getting myself enough sleep. I was just too excited.”

The 47-year-old actress wrote the book for the show, while Jeff wrote the music.

Over 14 years after the movie’s debut, the musical version of the hit movie will finally debut on Broadway on April 8, 2018 at the August Wilson Theater.

Lots of stars stepped out for the 2017 Tony Awards!

Tina Fey and her husband Jeff Richmond, as well as Uma Thurman, were seen on the red carpet at the show held at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday (June 11) in New York City.

Also seen on the red carpet that evening were Keegan Michael Key with girlfriend Elisa Pugliese, Mark Hamill with wife Marilou York, and John Lithgow.

Taran Killam has shared the sweetest message for his wife Cobie Smulders in support of her debut Broadway performance in Present Laughter!

The 35-year-old actress stars as Joanna Lyppiatt in the Noel Coward comedy, opposite Kevin Klein. Present Laughter officially opened last night (April 5) at the St. James Theatre in New York City.

“I don’t normally like to get very personal on social media but tonight is the opening of this woman’s Broadway debut,” Taran wrote on his Instagram post. “This woman, the kindest, most selfless, most stunning individual with the most educated heart I’ve ever encountered. She followed me to New York for my work and set a goal for herself. The only specific creative goal I’ve ever witnessed her commit to: perform in a play on Broadway. In these three years, she has jumped through many hoops; put herself out willingly and vulnerably, while still keeping a priority of being a superb mother and phenomenal partner.”

“She has been met with speculation, scrutiny and rejection but never gave up her commitment to her dream,” Taran continued. “And tonight, she realizes this dream. Something few people ever get to achieve. And she does it flawlessly. I have never been so overwhelmed with pride in my life. Congratulations, Cobie, you did it. Thank you for the inspiration and the incredible honor of being your husband.”
