Viola Davis is being honored!
The 56-year-old Oscar-winning actress was honored during the 2022 Women in Motion Awards hosted by Kering held during the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on Sunday (May 22) at Place de la Castre in Cannes, France.
Taking the stage to accept the award, Viola gave an empowering speech.

Congratulations are in order for Taylour Paige!
The 31-year-old actress won the award for Best Female Lead at the 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards at the Santa Monica Pier on Sunday afternoon (March 6) in Santa Monica, Calif.
Taylour won the award for playing the title character in the movie Zola. She was joined at the event by co-stars Colman Domingo (who was up for Best Supporting Male) and Ts Madison, director and co-writer Janicza Bravo, co-writer Jeremy O. Harris, and editor Joi McMillon.
Joi won the award for Best Editing.
During the show, co-host Nick Offerman parodied the movie by showing up on stage in a barely-there outfit and he was ready to get on a stripper pole. See photos in the gallery!

Slave Play is back on Broadway and Meryl Streep was in the crowd to welcome the show back to the New York stage.
The three-time Oscar-winning actress posed for a photo with playwright Jeremy O. Harris while attending the after party on Thursday night (December 2) at Tao Downtown in New York City.
It was a family affair for Meryl as her daughter Grace Gummer and her husband Mark Ronson were there as well. The newly married couple walked the red carpet together at the August Wilson Theatre.
Here is the play’s synopsis: “The Old South lives on at the MacGregor Plantation — in the breeze, in the cotton fields…and in the crack of the whip. It’s an antebellum fever-dream, where fear and desire entwine in the looming shadow of the Master’s House. Jim trembles as Kaneisha handles melons in the cottage, Alana perspires in time with the plucking of Phillip’s fiddle in the boudoir, while Dustin cowers at the heel of Gary’s big, black boot in the barn. Nothing is as it seems, and yet everything is as it seems.”
Slave Play is on Broadway for a limited run through January 23, 2022.

Taylour Paige, Rooney Mara, and Thandiwe Newton were among the stars who hit the red carpet for the annual event on Monday night (November 29) at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
More stars in attendance, and pictured here in the gallery, included Aldis Hodge, Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy, and Taylour‘s Zola director Janicza Bravo and writer Jeremy O. Harris.
Taylour was nominated for Outstanding Lead Performance for her work in the indie movie, which was released this past summer.

Lily Collins is back as Emily Cooper in season two of Emily in Paris on Netflix!
The trailer just dropped, along with new photos and a new synopsis of the second season.
Here’s the synopsis: Now more entrenched in her life in Paris, Emily’s getting better at navigating the city but still struggling with the idiosyncrasies of French life. After stumbling into a love triangle with her neighbor and her first real French friend, Emily is determined to focus on her work — which is getting more complicated by the day. In French class, she meets a fellow expat who both infuriates and intrigues her.
Other returning stars include Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy), Samuel Arnold (Luc), Bruno Gouery (Julien), Camille Razat (Cami) and William Abadie (Antoine Lambert). Tony Award-nominated playwright Jeremy O. Harris is opening up about the time when Adele showed up to see a performance of his play Daddy… and then left before the show began.
The 32-year-old playwright and screenwriter took to Twitter this weekend to share the story while he was listening to Adele‘s new song “Easy On Me.”
“STORYTIME: I need y’all to know as we continue to stream #EasyOnMe that the week of Adele and JLaw’s infamous gay clurb Hen weekend I got a call from my agent to tell me that Adele needed 6 tickets THAT NIGHT to see a performance of my play Daddy: a melodrama,” Jeremy began his 14-tweet thread.
The 2019 off-Broadway production of Daddy featured Alan Cumming and a swimming pool was part of the stage design, which was part of the reason why Adele decided to leave.

Ryan Gosling was just announced as the new brand ambassador for TAG Heuer and he celebrated his role with a VIP party in Los Angeles.
The 40-year-old actor looked stylish in his yellow suit while attending the event on Thursday night (October 7) at a private residence in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Ryan was joined at the event by other TAG Heuer ambassadors like Patrick Dempsey, tennis player Naomi Osaka, and Olympic sprinter Sydney McLaughlin.
The event featured playwright Jeremy O. Harris as the master of ceremony and TAG Heuer CEO Frédéric Arnault took to the stage to talk about the brand’s new Carrera Three Hands watches.
Ryan said in a statement, “Partnering with such an iconic brand which has been a pillar of excellence for more than 160 years was an easy decision. I really enjoyed working on this first ad campaign with Pari Dukovic, a photographer whose work I admire.”
Other attendees at the event included Euphoria‘s Angus Cloud, Never Have I Ever‘s Darren Barnet with girlfriend Mikaela Hoover, grown-ish‘s Luka Sabbat, Dear White People‘s Logan Browning, and stylist Brad Goreski.
