The estate of the late star is defending the choice to cast the 34-year-old actress as Marilyn in Blonde.

The 40-year-old Kardashians reality TV star opened up following reports that she caused damage to the iconic Marilyn Monroe dress that she briefly wore at the 2022 Met Gala.
The dress, which the late icon wore in 1962 to sing “Happy Birthday’ to then-President John F. Kennedy, was purchased by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum for nearly $5 million, and they also issued a statement about the condition of the dress.
In an interview on Today, Kim spoke out about the allegations.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! has released a statement on the condition of the dress Kim Kardashian wore to the 2022 Met Gala, which was once worn by Marilyn Monroe.
If you don’t know, Kim faced a lot of backlash in recent days after many believed she permanently damages the dress when photos began circulating of some seams looking out of place.
Marilyn famously wore the dress back in 1962 for President John F. Kennedy‘s birthday. Ripley’s paid $4.8 million at auction for the dress to have it part of its collection.

The 41-year-old reality star was joined by boyfriend Pete Davidson while appearing at the event on Monday evening (May 2) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
