The New York Police Department has announced that they have arrested a man for attacking Rick Moranis last month.

“Thanks to an eagle-eyed sergeant from @NYPDTransit, this suspect has been apprehended and charged,” the NYPD tweeted on Saturday (November 14).

According to the Associated Press, police arrested 35-year-old Marquis Ventura in connection with the crime. He was listed as homeless by authorities.

Back in October 1, the 67-year-old Honey, I Shrunk the Kids actor was punched in the head during a random attack on Central Park West, near West 70th street, and the whole situation was caught on video.

Shortly after the incident, a rep for Rick shared an update on how he was doing, saying the actor is “fine but grateful for everyone’s thoughts and well wishes.”

Rick Moranis was randomly attacked this week while walking down the street in New York City and now a rep for the actor is speaking out.

The 67-year-old Ghostbusters and Honey I Shrunk the Kids actor was punched in the head during a random attack on Central Park West, near West 70th street.

The attack was caught on video and a man in an “I ❤ NY” sweatshirt can be seen suddenly punching Rick in the head.

Rick‘s rep told Deadline that he is “fine but grateful for everyone’s thoughts and well wishes.”

Detective Kaz Daughtry told the New York Post, “[Moranis] is doing well. He is strong. He is recovering… He just wants us to catch the bad guy and all this to go away.”

Some big Hollywood stars are speaking out about the attack.

Rick Moranis has been identified as the 67-year-old man who was punched in the face by a man during a Thursday morning walk in New York City.

The beloved actor was walking on West 70th street near Central Park West at 7:24am on Thursday (October 1). A man walked by and sucker punched Rick in the head, then just walked away.

ABC News reports that “Moranis hurt his head, back, and hip in the attack and went to the hospital for evaluation.” A video of the attack can be viewed below.

Rick is best known for his work in the Ghostbusters and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids series. He also appeared in the 1986 musical movie Little Shop of Horrors.

Rick Moranis is returning to acting for the sequel to the 1989 blockbuster Honey, I Shrunk the Kids!

The 66-year-old actor has starred in a few versions of the film in addition to the 1989 movie. He made the 1992 hit Honey, I Blew Up the Kid and the 1997 film Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves (which was his last live action film ever.)

In the film, Josh Gad will play Rick’s son, who accidentally shrinks his whole family.

FYI – the movie will not be released on Disney+. It’s aiming for a theatrical release, Deadline reports.

No release date has been revealed for this project just yet, but stay tuned.
