Written by Taylor Jenkins Reid, the New York Times bestselling novel is about a reclusive, iconic Hollywood starlet Evelyn Hugo, who enlists unknown reporter Monique Grant to write her tell-all book, which will chronicle her life story and rise to fame during the golden age of Hollywood.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was first published in 2017, and found major popularity on TokTok. Then earlier this year, Netflix announced that they were working on making a movie adaption of the hit book.

Jessica Chastain is speaking out after a video of herself went viral on TikTok.

In the video, a fan approaches the 46-year-old actress outside of the stage door, asking her to sign a copy of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

Jessica responds: “I can’t sign that, just because I’m not doing it,” before agreeing to take a photo with the fan.
