Miley Cyrus is continuing to honor the late Tom Petty.

After performing the rock icon’s 1994 song “Wildflowers” on Stern Show, the 24-year-old Younger Now superstar brought the track to the main stage on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon alongside her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, for an emotional rendition of the track.

Together, the famous father-daughter duo sang the pretty track in tribute of the rocker who died on Monday (October 2).

Taylor Swift Pays Tribute to Tom Petty: 'He Represented a Kind of Songwriting I Idolized'

Taylor Swift is speaking out about the late Tom Petty and his impact on her own career.

The 27-year-old “Look What You Made Me Do” singer-songwriter paid tribute in a statement to Rolling Stone.

“To me, Tom Petty represented a kind of songwriting I idolized: complex simplicity,” she said.

“It said so much in the lyrics, the concepts, the stories, the message, the nuances…but always brought you back to a hook that got stuck in everyone’s head. He motivated thousands of guitarists to learn to play just because they wanted to be able to play ‘Free Fallin.” Count me as one of them.”

Tom sadly passed away at the age of 66 on Monday (October 2).

Miley Cyrus is paying tribute to Tom Petty, who died on Monday (October 2).

The 24-year-old Younger Now pop star appeared on Stern Show on Wednesday (October 4) for an interview and a series of performances, including a tribute to the late rock icon with a rendition of Tom‘s 1994 song, “Wildflowers.”

“It’s just really hard for me, watching those people that I grew up with leaving…the reason why I chose this song is because, again, it’s hopeful. It’s hopeful rather than mourning,” she told Howard Stern.

Tom Petty has passed away and celebrities are paying tribute to the iconic musician.

The 66-year-old rocker suffered from cardiac arrest and died surrounded by family and friends on Monday night (October 2) in Los Angeles.

“I loved Tom Petty and I covered his songs because I wanted know what it felt like to fly,” John Mayer wrote on his Twitter.

Paul McCartney added, “Sending love to Tom Petty and his family at this difficult time.”

Other musicians including Nick Jonas, Lorde, Sheryl Crow and Lin-Manuel Miranda also paid tribute to the late rocker.

Tom Petty Dead - Manager Confirms Iconic Musician Has Passed Away

Tom Petty‘s manger has just confirmed that he has sadly died.

The 66-year-old Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers front man passed away surrounded by family, friends and bandmates on Monday night (October 2) at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

“On behalf of the Tom Petty family we are devastated to announce the untimely death of our father, husband, brother, leader and friend Tom Petty,” the band’s longtime manager Tony Dimitriades said in a statement to Buzzfeed.

He added, “He suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu in the early hours of this morning and was taken to UCLA Medical Center but could not be revived. He died peacefully at 8:40 p.m. PT surrounded by family, his bandmates and friends.”

Tom Petty‘s daughter is speaking out following reports that her father had passed away.

The 66-year-old Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers front man is still alive, according to his daughter AnnaKim Violette, who posted a strongly worded message to media outlets reporting otherwise.

AnnaKim Violette took to her Instagram to write a note to Rolling Stone, who had previously stated that Tom had passed away after being found in cardiac arrest.

“my dad is not dead yet but your f**king magazine is…How dare you report that my father has died just to get press because your articles and photos are so dated…This is my father not a celebrity. An artist and human being. F**k u,” AnnaKim Violette wrote.

She later added that Tom‘s band is at the hospital with him, writing, “Band is here with my dad sweetest coolest people.”

Tom Petty Clinging for Life, Not Dead Despite Previous Reports

UPDATE (5:15pm ET): Despite several outlets reporting that Petty has passed away, TMZ claims that he is still clinging for life though he is off of life support. The LAPD has also apologized for “initial information” that was “inadvertently provided to some media sources.”

Tom Petty reportedly passed away at the age of 66 after reports emerged that he fell into cardiac arrest and was found unconscious at his Malibu, California home on Sunday (October 1).

Reports suggested that he had no brain activity at the hospital and was taken off of life support. CBS News confirmed that he’s passed.

Tom was the front man of the famous band Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, formed in 1976. Last week, the band wrapped their 40th anniversary tour at the Hollywood Bowl.

Over the years, Tom has put out over 15 albums, both solo and with the band, with the latest landing in 2014. Tom and his band are responsible for some big hits over the years including “American Girl,” “Free Falin’,” “Refugee” and “I Won’t Back Down.” In addition to his work with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Tom was also part of the group Traveling Wilburys back in the 1980s with Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne.
