UPDATE: Tom Petty‘s manager has confirmed that Tom sadly passed away earlier this evening.

Rocker Tom Petty was found in full cardiac arrest on Sunday (October 1). He reportedly had no brain activity when he got to the hospital and a decision was made to pull life support.

The 66-year-old Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers front man was found not breathing an in an unconscious state at his home in Malibu, Calif. EMT’s were able to get there and get a pulse before rushing him to UCLA Santa Monica Hospital, TMZ reports.

We’re sending our thoughts to Tom during this time and will update with news as it is made available.

Lil Dicky‘s brand new music video for his song “$ave Dat Money” is so epic that it’s bound to become the next viral sensation.

The rapper, whose real name is David Burd, decided to make the video with absolutely no money since the song is all about saving money.

Dicky convinces people to let them in to their Beverly Hills mansion, use their expensive cars like a Lamborghini and a Mclaren, hop on board a yacht, and more. He even crashed the set of a T-Pain shoot!

Celebrities like Kevin Durant, Dillon Francis, Hannibal Buress, Sarah Silverman, Abbi Jacobson, Ilana Glazer, Mark Cuban, and Tom Petty give shouts and the song also features Fetty Wap and Rich Homie Quan.

Tom Petty has released a statement concerning the Sam Smith songwriting incident that took place earlier this week.

Tom and his collaborator Jeff Lynne noticed that Sam‘s song “Stay With Me” was similar to their hit “I Won’t Back Down,” and it was decided that Sam would pay them royalties.

“Let me say I have never had any hard feelings toward Sam. All my years of songwriting have shown me these things can happen. Most times you catch it before it gets out the studio door but in this case it got by,” Tom wrote in a statement on his website. “How it got out to the press is beyond Sam or myself. Sam did the right thing and I have thought no more about this. A musical accident no more no less.”

Sam Smith has agreed to pay the legendary singer Tom Petty royalties from his song “Stay With Me.”

The decision came after Tom and his collaborator Jeff Lynne noticed that the song was very similar to their song “I Won’t Back Down.” They reached out to Sam‘s reps and both teams came to an agreement amicably.

“Not previously familiar with the 1989 Petty/Lynne song, the writers of ‘Stay With Me’ listened to ‘I Won’t Back Down’ and acknowledged the similarity,” Sam‘s rep said in a statement to Billboard. “Although the likeness was a complete coincidence, all involved came to an immediate and amicable agreement in which Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne are now credited as co-writers of ‘Stay With Me’ along with Sam Smith, James Napier and William Phillips.”

Kanye West is set to headline the 2014 Outside Lands Music Festival taking place from August 8 through 10 in San Francisco, Calif.

The festival will be taking place in the same city where the 36-year-old rapper rented out a stadium last year to propose to his fiancee Kim Kardashian.
