Pregnant Danielle Brooks Joins Uzo Aduba at 'Orange Is the New Black' Final Season Premiere!

Danielle Brooks poses alongside co-star Uzo Aduba at the premiere of Orange Is the New Black‘s final season on Thursday (July 25) at Lincoln Center in New York City.

Danielle is currently pregnant with her first child and Uzo cradled her baby bump on the red carpet.

“I remember my first premiere like it was yesterday. My dress zipper popped and my friend @iammetch found a seamstress in the final hour to fix my dress. I was freaking out about being late, and my dad, and two of my best friends were by my side that night. It was my first carpet EVER and my teeth wouldn’t stop chattering because I was sooo nervous,” Danielle wrote on her Instagram page that day.

She added, “All these pictures hold a story but the photos I take tonight will mean the most, as I share them with the people who have become my family and with carrying the little Debbie cake inside this Taystee oven. It’s the end of an era, and the beginning of so much more. Thank you to all the fans who have been supporting us from Day 1 and all who have jumped on board season after season.”

FYI: Danielle is wearing a Christian Siriano dress. Uzo is wearing a SemSem dress and Irene Neuwirth jewelry.

Uzo Aduba Admits She 'Didn't Really Get' Streaming While Filming the First Season of 'Orange Is The New Black'

Uzo Aduba, Jenji Kohan and Cindy Holland are on the cover of Variety‘s latest issue, out now.

Here’s what the Orange Is The New Black cast and crew had to say…

Uzo, on the show’s beginning before streaming was popular: “When we were making Orange [in 2012], it wasn’t like House of Cards was actually on television for us to be like, ‘Oh, it’s going to be that. It’s like, ‘Is it a web series? Is it going to be on YouTube? I don’t really get what this is.’ Additionally, the makeup of our show wasn’t something that was all over the television landscape.”

Uzo, on working in television: “It was something that, up until then, I didn’t actively pursue, because I had never seen a space for myself there existent in it.”

Jenji, on why she loved the Netflix model from the start: “Here was a network that was willing to buy an entire season at once and fund it and support it. There was nothing better in my mind. I had gone through years and years of pilots, and [for Netflix] to say, ‘We’re going to support your vision through a whole season’ was an amazing opportunity. It had a real budget and a team that was really into it, so I wasn’t thinking in terms of ‘No one will see it’ or ‘It’ll only be on the web’ or whatever. It’s like, ‘I get to make this.’”

Jennifer Garner, Natalie Portman & More Support Time's Up With US Women's Soccer

Jennifer Garner and Natalie Portman are standing in solidarity with female soccer players!

The two actresses joined Uzo Aduba, Jessica Chastain and Eva Longoria to support the Time’s Up Pay Up movement at the U.S. Women’s National Team Players Event on Sunday (April 7) at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.

The group showed their support for women soccer player’s fight for equal pay, as they are not paid the same as their male counterparts, despite constantly outperforming them.

The U.S. women’s soccer team are consistently ranked number one in the world and outperform the men’s team when it comes to victories, domestic viewership and name recognition.

Despite making millions of dollars for the U.S. Soccer Federation, they are still paid less.

“So the US women’s team is the best in the world and the men’s team gets paid more? #TimesUpPayUp,” Jessica wrote on her Instagram stories.
