'Black Panther 2' Resumes Filming, One Star Gets Big Pay Raise

The upcoming Marvel movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever shut down filming in late November 2021 and now the film is back in production!

Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri in the MCU movie, suffered an injury in late August 2021 and they filmed as much as they could without her. Now, she is finally doing better and is able to resume filming with the rest of the cast and crew.

“She always intended to return but just needed to wait until she had fully recovered,” her agent told THR amid reports that she wouldn’t resume filming due to COVID-19 restrictions. Letitia has previously made anti-COVID vaccine sentiments and all cast and crew members are required to be vaccinated.

THR reports that production was supposed to resume last Monday, but it was delayed after several cast and crew, including Lupita Nyong’o, tested positive for COVID-19. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has about four weeks of filming remaining.

The report also claims that one cast member has negotiated a big pay raise.

Chadwick Boseman's Wife Taylor Simone Ledward & 'Black Panther' Co-Stars Attend Private Memorial

Chadwick Boseman’s loved ones are remembering the late actor.

The Black Panther star, who sadly passed away after a long private battle with cancer on August 28, was honored with a private memorial in Malibu, Calif., via The Sun.

The memorial was attended by Chadwick‘s wife Taylor Simone Ledward, friends and co-stars, including Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke.

Photographs from the memorial service, which overlooked the ocean, show that there was a hang drum musical performance, and an image of the late actor was on display on a table next to a floral arrangement.

Chadwick Boseman‘s agent recently revealed why he kept his cancer diagnosis private. It was also revealed only a select few actually knew what Chadwick was going through.

Our thoughts are with Chadwick‘s loved ones at this difficult time.

Winston Duke Says He Feels Sick & Is In Pain Over Chadwick Boseman's Death

Winston Duke wrote a beautiful tribute to Chadwick Boseman on social media, just days after his death shocked his co-stars and fans around the world.

The 33-year-old actor who starred with Chadwick in Black Panther wrote “How do I start to honor a man who I saw as a giant in many ways; with whom I thought I had so much more time…”

Winston adds, “I am absolutely devastated by the loss of my friend and hero, Chadwick Boseman…”

“I feel sick … I’m in pain and I can’t believe he’s gone,” he continued in the caption. “Chadwick was a lightning rod for me… he gave me direction… when I saw 42, I said, I could be like THIS guy. I knew I belonged because I could see myself in you… that’s what heroes do… they seem familiar because they make it possible for us to see our potential best selves demonstrated through them…”

Winston went on, “Through seeing Chad’s work, I was able to say, ‘I could be just like you one day’ and when I saw you in person for the first time… at my audition for Black Panther, you acknowledged me and my dream by saying, ‘he’s ready!’ Man, your words that day made me feel like my dream was finally real!”

“Chadwick then proceeded to show us collectively everyday on set what it was to be a leading man. Not only through his work but by how he welcomed and created a space for all of us to feel safe, open and bold … You even worked with me 1 on 1, on our scenes, so that we could get it right, well before the day of the filming.”

Winston also shared a heartfelt thank you to Chadwick for everything: “Chadwick, Thank you! Chadwick, you are the best…you are me and I’m you and we are all one! Thanks for being someone I could look up to on and off screen … your calm confidence was inspiring and exemplary. Thanks for sharing with me… you go ahead …you did your job and did it well!”

“You will NEVER be forgotten. Your heroism is now legend. We’ll carry the load and honor your legacy, the rest of the way! Bless King! #chadwickboseman #wakandaforever”

If you didn’t see, another of Chadwick‘s Black Panther co-stars shared another tribute this weekend.
