Timothee Chalamet is set to bring the famous candy maker Willy Wonka to life in the upcoming musical Wonka. However, he didn’t even have to audition for the part.
The 27-year-old Dune actor made his official debut as the character in the newly released trailer this week.

Timothee Chalamet has revealed new details about his upcoming movie, Wonka.
The 26-year-old actor is starring in the flick as the title chocolatier, who came to life in Roald Dahl‘s story.
In an interview with British Vogue, Timothee revealed that there are actually seven musical numbers in the movie, which is set to come out in 2023.
“This movie is so sincere, it’s so joyous,” he says, before adding that having those musical numbers was a perfect situation for him to have a sense of escape.
Timothee adds, “I hate to say it, but the dream as an artist is to throw whatever the f*** you want at the wall, you know? And I guess what I’m realizing is that one’s personal life, one’s adult life, can be quite boring and the artist’s life can still be extraordinary.”
Wonka is still set to release in December of next year.
