Daniel Radcliffe: 'Harry Potter' Was Snubbed by Oscars
Daniel Radcliffe suits up for the premiere of The Woman in Black on Tuesday (February 7) in Paris, France.
The 22-year-old English actor recently sounded off on why he thinks Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 was not recognized by the Academy outside of the technical categories for this year’s Oscars.
“I don’t think the Oscars like commercial films or kids’ films, unless they’re directed by Martin Scorsese. I was watching Hugo the other day and going, ‘Why is this nominated and we’re not?’ I was slightly miffed,” he told the Radio Times (via The Guardian).
“There’s a certain amount of snobbery,” Daniel added. “It’s kind of disheartening. I never thought I’d care. But it would’ve been nice to have some recognition, just for the hours put in.”
