Richard Simmons‘ rep is debunking rumors that he is transitioning from male to female, despite rumors that have been running rampant since his mysterious hospitalization last week.

The National Enquirer reported that Richard was undergoing surgery to become a woman, but his rep said, “The story is a complete fabrication and not true,” (via THR).

Richard has not made any public appearances in years, and his sudden absence from the limelight has been a cause for speculation.
