Who Won Presidential Debate 2016? Experts Weigh In on Hillary Clinton vs Donald Trump
The very first Presidential Debate aired on Monday (September 26), and lots of people are wondering…who won the contest: Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump?
Political experts and advisers have been weighing in on the big night. CNN reports that nearly two-thirds of voters believe that Secretary Clinton won the night.
“Voters who watched said Clinton expressed her views more clearly than Trump and had a better understanding of the issues by a margin of more than 2-to-1,” CNN added.
“The consensus that Donald Trump badly lost the first debate gelled overnight,” the Washington Post reports.
“In the end, the lawyerly preparations paid off for Mrs Clinton, as she controlled the evening with forensic precision. While Mr Trump had a strategy – and pursued it on occasion – he was often blown off course by the former secretary of state and torpedoed by his own sometimes badgering performance,” the BBC wrote.
“A Fox News online poll had Trump winning with 50 percent of respondents, Clinton at 35 percent and the other 15 percent declaring no one won,” Fox News reports.
The upcoming presidential debates will take place on Sunday (October 9) and Wednesday (October 19).
