Jennifer Lopez to Star in NBC's 'Bye Bye Birdie' Live Musical!

NBC has announced that Jennifer Lopez will star in a live production of the musical Bye Bye Birdie in 2017!

The 47-year-old entertainer will play the role of Rosie, which was originated in the Broadway version of the musical by the legendary Chita Rivera.

Harvey Fierstein will write the television adaptation of the musical, which will air next holiday season.

First up for NBC is the upcoming production of Hairspray Live this December and Harvey is playing the role of Edna Turnblad, which he originated in the Broadway version.
