Sam Rockwell Confirms His Dad Defended 'Three Billboards' in 'NYT' Article: 'That's My Old Man'

Sam Rockwell stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday (February 6) and confirmed that a comment made by “Pete Rockwell” on a New York Times story about his film Three Billboards in Ebbing, Missouri indeed came from his actual dad.

When Jimmy brought up the mysterious comment on Wesley Morris‘ Jan. 18 story titled, “Does ‘Three Billboards’ Say Anything About America? Well…,” the 49-year-old actor laughed and said, “I think that’s him, I think that’s my old man.”

“I loved this movie, and intend to see it again,” Sam‘s father Pete wrote in the comment section. “My son, Sam, won a Golden Globe for playing Jason Dixon. I think I would still love the movie if another actor had played Dixon… But not quite as much.”

Sam has been nominated for a Best Supporting Actor 2018 Oscar and won a best supporting actor Golden Globe for his role in Three Billboards in Ebbing, Missouri.
