Kate Spade Dead - Famed Designer Dies at 55 in Apparent Suicide

Iconic fashion designer Kate Spade has passed away.

The 55-year-old handbag designer was pronounced dead at her New York City home at 10:20 am ET.

“Law enforcement officials: Fashion designer Kate Spade found dead in New York in apparent suicide,” the Associated Press reported via their Twitter account. TMZ also updated that it appears to be death by hanging.

Kate began Kate Spade Handbags in 1993 with her husband Andy Spade. She sold the company in 2007 and launched a new fashion brand in 2016 called Frances Valentine, named for her daughter.

Kate is survived her her husband Andy, their 13-year-old daughter Frances Beatrix Spade, her brother-in-law David Spade, and more.

    Because severe depression is a deep dark hole that can cause unbelievable pain and death seems the only way out. depression is a terrible, tragic disease.
