James Marsden‘s role was cut from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The 45-year-old actor’s participation in the film was announced last year, but we never knew who he was intended to play…until now.

Collider reports that James was cut from the film and audiences discovered this after the film’s premiere on Monday. James was apparently intended to play a young Burt Reynolds in the movie.

The late Burt Reynolds himself was actually supposed to be in the film, but he sadly passed away before filming.

It’s unclear if James‘ role was cut for time or cut after the death of the late actor.
