'Hawkeye' Spinoff Planned & Will Focus On Deaf Character Echo

Hawkeye hasn’t even premiered yet on Disney+, but there’s already a spinoff planned!

Variety reports that Marvel has not confirmed the report just yet, but the plans are there for a spinoff series centered on Echo, a deaf Native American character in Hawkeye.

Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen are attached to write and executive produce the show, and a writers room is currently being gathered.

Echo’s real name is Maya Lopez and the character has the ability to perfectly copy another person’s movements or fighting style, making her a formidable opponent in battle.

In the comics, Echo shares panels with Daredevil, Moon Knight and the Avengers.

She was also the first person to hold the title of Ronin before passing it onto Clint Barton, who is played by Jeremy Renner on screen.

In Hawkeye, Echo is played by Alaqua Cox.

Hawkeye star Hailee Steinfeld was just recently spotted on the set, sowing off her archery skills while filming for the series, that is expected to premiere this year.
