Elizabeth Banks appears in a glowing light while making her entrance on stage at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday (July 26) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Penn.
The Hunger Games mocked the way that Donald Trump walked on stage to accepted the Republican nomination last week with Queen‘s “We Are the Champions” playing in the background.
“I don’t usually say this about Donald Trump, but that was over the top,” Elizabeth said. “I confirmed it right now. The Trump campaign is so hard up for money, I just bought that fog machine on eBay for thirty bucks. I don’t feel good about it.”
During her speech, Elizabeth compared Trump to Effie Trinket, the character she planned in the dystopian franchise.
“Some of you know me from The Hunger Games, in which I play Effie Trinket — a cruel, out-of-touch reality TV star who wears insane wigs while delivering long-winded speeches to a violent dystopia,” Elizabeth said. “So when I tuned in to Cleveland last week, I was like, ‘Hey! That’s my act.’”

Susan later tweeted “I’m out” and “don’t blame us if [Hillary Clinton] loses to Trump. [Bernie] did what you wanted.”
It’s no secret that Aaron and Jordan are not on good terms and their broken relationship has been a major topic throughout the season. During JoJo‘s hometown visit with the Rodgers family, Jordantried to avoid talking about his brother.
“I haven’t seen the show, to be honest with you, so it hasn’t really affected me a whole lot,” Aaron said (via WISN) on Tuesday (July 26).
When Aaron was asked about his relationship with Jordan, he said, “As far as those kinds of things go, I’ve always found that it’s a little inappropriate to talk publicly about some family matters, so I’m just — I’m not going to speak on those things, but I wish him well in the competition.”
