Harley Quinn Revealed to Be a Bernie Sanders Supporter in 'Birds of Prey'

The new movie Birds of Prey hit theaters this past weekend and Harley Quinn’s political views were revealed in the film!

At one point, Margot Robbie‘s Harley is being attacked by a lot of random people who she has wronged in the past and now that she’s no longer dating the Joker, they are finally coming after her as she has no one to protect her.

Harley lists out the grievances that each person has with her and while revealing main villain Roman Sionis’ grievances against her, she says one of them is that she “voted for Bernie.”

Birds of Prey director Cathy Yan opened up to TheWrap about this moment in the movie.

“With the grievances we were just kinda coming up with different grievances, and I would throw some ideas in, and Christina Hodson would throw some ideas in,” she said. “I think the Bernie thing, I’ll give full credit to Christina on that one. And we all just chuckled at it so we thought, why not? And I think tonally and stylistically this is a movie that can afford that kind of stuff, and a little bit of self-awareness — or a lot of self-awareness, I should say. And not a lot of movies get to make a Bernie joke, so sure, let’s do it.”

Hillary Clinton Explains Her Bernie Sanders Comments at Sundance 2020

Hillary Clinton walks the red carpet at the premiere of her new Hulu docu-series Hillary during the 2020 Sundance Film Festival on Saturday (January 25) at The Ray in Park City, Utah.

Later in the day, the former Secretary of State attended a special reception, where she met up with Succession‘s Nicholas Braun and Hulu CEO Randy Freer.

A quote from the documentary was reported this week and Hillary is seen talking about Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

“Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done,” she says in the documentary. At Sundance, she explained the comment.

“Well, you know, I shot that interview probably a year and a half ago, and I didn’t think about the election. I’ve made it very clear that I will work hard for whoever our democratic nominee is. I think the number one priority for any American is to retire Donald Trump. Period,” she said in a THR interview.

Hillary Clinton Slams Bernie Sanders & Reveals How She Really Feels About Him

Hillary Clinton is on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter‘s latest issue, and she’s revealing her true feelings about Bernie Sanders.

If you don’t know, the two politicians ran against each other for the Democratic nomination in 2016. Here’s what the former Secretary of State had to share…

On her thoughts on Senator Sanders: “He was in Congress for years. He had one senator support him. Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done. He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it.”

On whether she’d endorse Sanders if he gets the Democratic nomination: “I’m not going to go there yet. We’re still in a very vigorous primary season. I will say, however, that it’s not only him, it’s the culture around him. It’s his leadership team. It’s his prominent supporters. It’s his online Bernie Bros and their relentless attacks on lots of his competitors, particularly the women. And I really hope people are paying attention to that because it should be worrisome that he has permitted this culture — not only permitted, [he] seems to really be very much supporting it.”

On Sanders allegedly telling Sen. Elizabeth Warren in 2018 that he didn’t think a woman could win [which he denies]: “Well, number one, I think [that idea] is untrue, which we should all say loudly. I mean, I did get more votes both in the primary, by about 4 million, and in the general election, by about 3 million. I think that both the press and the public have to really hold everybody running accountable for what they say and what their campaign says and does…Then this argument about whether or not or when he did or didn’t say that a woman couldn’t be elected, it’s part of a pattern. If it were a oneoff, you might say, ‘OK, fine.’ But he said I was unqualified. I had a lot more experience than he did, and got a lot more done than he had, but that was his attack on me. I just think people need to pay attention because we want, hopefully, to elect a president who’s going to try to bring us together, and not either turn a blind eye, or actually reward the kind of insulting, attacking, demeaning, degrading behavior that we’ve seen from this current administration.”

John Legend Has a Message for Bernie Sanders Supporters Who Aren't Happy He Endorsed Elizabeth Warren

John Legend endorsed Elizabeth Warren for the democratic nomination, and some Bernie Sanders supporters did not take too well to that.

It appears as if John got some comments in his mentions that caused him to write a message to those Bernie supporters, telling some to “chill” with their “nastiness.”

“Some of you Bernie supporters do quite the disservice to your candidate, who seems to be a great human being. Try not to drive people away with your nastiness. I will happily vote for him if he wins the primary. Chill,” John wrote on his Twitter account.

Find out who John‘s wife Chrissy Teigen has decided to support in the 2020 election if you missed it.
