'The Voice' Returns for Its First Socially Distanced Season - Watch the Preview!

The Voice is back!

Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend are all returning as judges for the upcoming Season 19 of the long-running NBC singing competition, and People shared a first look at the all-new socially distanced season on Thursday (September 10), which is coming amid the pandemic.

Among the changes: the judges will now sit eight feet apart in their chairs, and will find innovative ways to stay connected to their contestants. In one scene, Gwen attempts to launch a tee during the blind auditions with a T-shirt cannon.

“I got a present for you but because we’re social distancing, I’m going to launch it at you,” she says.

The Season 18 finale of The Voice aired remotely from the coaches and contestants’ homes amid the pandemic, while Carson Daly hosted from a soundstage.

Just recently, Gwen revealed that a former judge contributed to her getting the job on the show.

Blake Shelton Sparks Controversy for His Coronavirus Comment

The Voice mentor Blake Shelton posted a tweet with false information about the COVID-19 pandemic and fans were quick to respond.

It started when President Donald Trump retweeted a tweet that had false information. The tweet contained a “baseless QAnon conspiracy theory” spewing false stats about Coronavirus, CNN reports. Twitter eventually deleted the tweet.

The false claim stated that the CDC had “quietly” updated COVID-19 numbers so that 6% of those who passed were actually from the pandemic, while “the other 94% had 2-3 other serious illnesses.”

Blake must not have seen the false report, and took to Twitter to write, “I’m not even sure which side(politically) this would land on. But am I the only person who sees the new CDC update as some actual good news? Just that. Not left or right… Just updated info that’s better than we thought. I mean does everything have to be a fight these days?” He also added, “I’m talking about 6% news.”

A fan responded back, “Do some actual research, Blake. A majority of the damn country has pre-existing health conditions. A lot don’t even know they have them. So, if they contract COVID, it’s okay because those without will probably live? If you don’t understand the info, just don’t say anything.”

And it didn’t stop there.

Gwen Stefani Reacts to Blake Shelton Being Called Her 'Husband' By Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa mistakenly called Blake Shelton Gwen Stefani‘s “husband” and she had a cute reaction!

While filling in for Jimmy Kimmel on his talk show, Dua mentioned that Gwen had spent most of quarantine at “husband Blake Shelton‘s” Oklahoma ranch.

“Well he’s not my husband, but that sounded cool when you said it,” Gwen responded back.

“We had, like, 15 people,” Gwen said about quarantine. ” It was really actually a lot of fun at first. All the sudden work is over and you just get to indulge on being on this ranch. Every day was a new thing. Like, ‘A baby armadillo today!’ Or ‘We got baby wild hogs!’ Everything turned into, like, learning how to cook sourdough bread like everybody else in the world. We just had a lot of fun.”
