Cameron Boyce‘s grandmother, Jo Ann Boyce, is speaking about her grandson’s tragic and sudden death at the age of 20 over the weekend.

“His nature, his giving nature, loving nature. That’s his legacy. As well as his talent,” Jo Ann told East Tennessee ABC station WATE. If you don’t know, Cameron and Jo Ann were previously featured on Disney XD in a tribute for Black History Month back in 2016. Jo Ann was part of the Clinton 12, who were twelve African-American teens who were first to integrate into a public school in the South in 1956.

“To show that his grandmother had been involved in something that he felt like he was stepping on my shoulders and to make the world a better place, that was an incredible experience,” Jo Ann added.

“He is a star. But he’s like a different kind of star. He’s a shining star in the sky. We’re grateful for everyone who is sending us the love and the support that we need right now. Thank you,” she continued.

Cameron Boyce‘s family is speaking out with a new statement to confirm a report that has been spreading in the media this week.

The family confirmed that the 20-year-old actor suffered from Epilepsy, which is the ongoing medical condition that resulted in him having a seizure.

“Cameron’s tragic passing was due to a seizure as a result of an ongoing medical condition, and that condition was Epilepsy,” a spokesperson for the Boyce family told ABC News on Tuesday night (July 9).

“We are still trying to navigate our way through this extremely heart wrenching time, and continue to ask for privacy so that the family, and all who knew and loved him can grieve his loss and make arrangements for his funeral–which in and of itself, is agonizing,” the family added.

Dove Cameron has posted an incredible emotional video paying tribute to her late Descendants co-star Cameron Boyce, who shockingly passed away at the age of 20.

The two actors worked together in all three Descendants movies for the Disney Channel.

“I felt really weird about posting about Cameron on social media. Because it felt really emotional, and private, and intimate, and social media is the opposite of that. And I just couldn’t quite reconcile the two and make them fit, so I didn’t know what I was going to do,” Dove explained in a video posted to Instagram. “But, I just got back from therapy and I’ve decided that the only way to get through it right now is… I think we all need to just, if we want to, be expressive and connective, so I wrote something that I’m going to try to read.”

Cameron Boyce moved in with his longtime friends (and fellow Disney Channel stars) Karan Brar and Sophie Reynolds shortly before he passed away at the age of 20.

Karan and Sophie both took to social media on Tuesday (July 9) to share heartbreaking tributes to their late friend. Both of the young stars said they haven’t really been able to put everything into words just yet.

“you were the greatest thing to have ever happened to me. i love you so much cam. wish i had more to say right now but i don’t think words will come for a while. thank you to everyone who sent such kind words my way. know i haven’t been responding but it truly means a lot,” Karan wrote on Instagram.

“my family. my person. my heart. maybe someday I’ll be able to put everything cam was into words, but right now it just hurts a little too much. Please, hug everyone you love. I wish I could,” Sophie wrote on her page.

Debby Ryan is sharing a really touching video following Cameron Boyce‘s untimely death.

The 26-year-old Insatiable star is the last co-star from Jessie to react to Cameron’s passing, which happened over the weekend due to an epileptic seizure.

The video she shared didn’t have any words, just a broken heart emoji.

Cameron was one of the young stars of the show, opposite Peyton List, Karan Brar and Skai Jackson, and Kevin Chamberlain as butler Bertram.

Many celebs have paid tribute to Cameron Boyce, who died this past weekend due to a epileptic seizure, in the days since his passing, and Sabrina Carpenter just shared hers.

Taking to Instagram, the 20-year-old actress and singer called Cameron an “angel on earth”.

“you are something extraordinarily special cam. i cannot grasp what a world without you looks like yet, nor do i want to,” Sabrina started out. “nothing i can write will feel right, or pay enough tribute to how incredible you actually are, but all i know is i am so beyond lucky to have known you and eternally grateful for the times you and i shared together.”

She added, “you were an angel on earth and i can only imagine all the sensational things you would have done had this world given you more time.”

An autopsy was performed today (July 8) to try and determine a cause of death for Disney Channel actor Cameron Boyce.

More information will be made after further investigation as the coroner wasn’t able to immediately come to a conclusion.

“The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner says an autopsy was performed today and a cause of death was deferred pending further investigation,” Entertainment Tonight producer Brendon Geoffrion tweeted.

Cameron‘s family said that he “passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.”

The young actor was only 20-years-old when he passed away and he had many projects in the works.
