The 18-year-old singer and her beau were on their way to the 2014 New Zealand Music Awards at Vector Arena on Thursday (November 20) in Auckland, New Zealand.

“It’s crazy to think that it’s [been] a year since I was right there [in the audience], stressed out,” Lorde shared at the ceremony after winning six awards. “You have moved mountains for me, you have changed my life.”

She added, “In my house, the Tuis go in the kitchen, which may not sound that impressive. But in my house, the kitchen is the really important place to be!”More Here! »

Lorde‘s boyfriend James Lowe has spoken out about dating the Grammy-winning singer for the first time in a new blog post.

The 24-year-old photographer refers to his girlfriend Lorde, 17, with her real name Ella Yelich-O’Connor.

“I’ve written, deleted, re-written, and deleted this post at least five times over the past few months, wondering when would be an appropriate time to start writing again,” he explains. “Since originally sitting down to write this post, Ella has become a two-time Grammy winner. She has taken home a Brit too. Currently she is on the opposite side of the world on tour. As much as I miss her, I couldn’t be prouder of what she has achieved so far.”

“My life is probably a lot different now, but it feels normal on the inside,” James continued in the post. “Jared Leto said that fame doesn’t change you, it changes everyone around you. While I’m not the centre of attention here (and f–k, the times I have, it’s never been fun), I do become aware of the people around me and their transparency.”

Lorde heads into ABC Studios with her entourage on Monday afternoon (February 3) in Sydney, Australia.

The 17-year-old singer was joined for the outing by her photographer boyfriend James Lowe, 24. The night before she performed at a show in Rozelle as part of the Laneway Festival.

“i thought the superbowl and the world series were the same thing,” Lorde tweeted the day before.

“dead at people thinking i posted my music on 4chan last year… the caption i supposedly wrote “in b4 tits and the kitchen” o i am laffin,” she added.

FYI: Lorde is carrying a Bally bag.

The 17-year-old two-time Grammy winner was joined on the outing by her older sister Katherine.

“wow thankyou for that, auckland! you made my day brilliant. so glad we could make this happen #Laneway2014,” Lorde tweeted the day before after performing at St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, which promotes indie music.

In case you missed it, Lorde won Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit song “Royals” at the 2014 Grammys.
