Maroon 5 & Cardi B Dethrone Drake on Billboard Hot 100 with 'Girls Like You'

Maroon 5 and Cardi B have finally reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with their song “Girls Like You” after spending the past six weeks at number two!

The song has dethroned Drake‘s “In My Feelings,” which topped the all-genre chart for the past ten weeks.

“In My Feelings” dropped to number two for the chart dated September 29 and Eminem skyrocketed to number three with his new song “Killshot.”

This is Maroon 5‘s fourth song to hit number one on the Hot 100 after “Makes Me Wonder” in 2007, “Moves Like Jagger” in 2011, and “One More Night” in 2012.

Cardi is at number one for the third time following her debut single “Bodak Yellow” and her song “I Like It.”

Maroon 5 is performing the halftime show at next year’s Super Bowl and Cardi is rumored to join them!

The 14-year-old Stranger Things star made an appearance onstage at the Maroon 5 concert on Sunday night (September 23) at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.

While on stage, Millie performed Cardi B‘s verse from their smash hit collaboration, “Girls Like You.” So good!

NFL Releases Statement on Maroon 5 Super Bowl Halftime Show Rumors

The NFL has released a statement on the rumor that Adam Levine‘s Maroon 5 will be the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show performer.

“It’s a Super Bowl tradition to speculate about the performers for the Pepsi Halftime Show,” a league spokesman told Deadline in a statement.

The statement continued, “We are continuing to work with Pepsi on our plans but do not have any announcements to make on what will be another epic show.”

The Super Bowl is set to take place on February 3 in Atlanta, Ga.

A source confirms to Just Jared that Maroon 5 has been confirmed as the Super Bowl halftime show performer.

Billboard has now also revealed some of the names on the shortlist to join the band on stage for the huge game, which will be played live on February 3, 2019 in Atlanta, Ga.

Apparently, Cardi B and Travis Scott are on the “short list” as special guests. Cardi B is featured on Maroon 5‘s “Girls Like You.”

The band nor the NFL have not yet confirmed this news.

Is Maroon 5 the Frontrunner for Super Bowl Halftime Show 2019?

UPDATE: Since publishing this report, Just Jared has confirmed via a source that Maroon 5 is the halftime show performer.

A new report has emerged suggesting that Maroon 5 could be chosen as the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show headliners!

You may remember, Adam Levine previously said back in 2015 that the band “very actively want to play the Super Bowl.”

“The offer has been extended and they’ve pretty much accepted,” a source apparently told Us Weekly about the 2019 gig.

There’s been no confirmation about this report, and the NFL will usually confirm the news themselves. Around this time of year, there are always lots of rumors about who will play the show, so stay tuned for official confirmation!
