Jessica Chastain glimmers in gold on the red carpet at the premiere of her film Lawless during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival on Saturday (May 19) in Cannes, France.

The Oscar-nominated actress was joined by her co-stars Tom Hardy and Mia Wasikowska, who was gorgeous in a J. Mendel plum textured silk cloque deep v-neck gown.

Jessica and Mia also met up with co-star Shia LaBeouf earlier in the day for a photo call!

Lawless is a gangster tale inspired by the true life stories told in author Matt Bondurant‘s novel “The Wettest County in the World.”

Lawless is based on Matt Bondurant‘s 2008 historical novel “The Wettest County in the World,” and tells the story of three brothers (Hardy, LaBeouf, and Clarke) who get into the bootlegging business.

Lawless is an epic gangster tale inspired by the true life stories told in author Matt Bondurant‘s family novel “The Wettest County in the World.”

In the film, the loyalty of the infamous Bondurant Brothers is put to the test against the backdrop of the nation’s most notorious crime wave.

FYI: Jessica is wearing a stripe silk jersey dress with a plunging neckline and back from Herve L. Leroux. Mia is wearing a Prada dress with Miu Miu shoes.

Cate Blanchett and Mia Wasikowska are teaming up for the big screen adaptation of Patricia Highsmith‘s novella Carol.

The story is “set in 1950s New York that follows the burgeoning relationship between two very different women,” according to THR, which adds that production is slated to begin February 2013 in London and New York.

Producers Stephen Woolley and Elizabeth Karlsen said they “were thrilled” to have Cate and Mia on board for the project, “two of the most talented actors working today.”

Mia Wasikowska hits the red carpet at the 2012 Met Ball held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 7) in New York City.
