Philip McKeon Dead - 'Alice' Child Star Dies at 55

Philip McKeon has sadly passed away at the age of 55.

The actor – known for playing the role of Tommy Hyatt, the son of the title character, on the CBS sitcom Alice from 1976 to 1985 – died on Tuesday (December 10) in Texas after a long illness, Deadline reports.

“We are all beyond heartbroken and devastated over Phil’s passing,” family spokesman Jeff Ballard said in a statement. “His wonderful sense of humor, kindness and loyalty will be remembered by all who crossed his path in life.”

Alice was the TV adaptation of Martin Scorsese’s 1974 film Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. Philip also appeared in TV series like The Love Boat, Amazing Stories, and Favorite Son, as well as movies including Sandman, Red Surf, and 976-EVIL II.

Additionally, Philip appeared on TV game shows like The Hollywood Squares and The $100,000 Pyramid, and he worked for 10 years in the news department at Los Angeles radio outlet KFWB-AM.

Philip is survived by his mother Barbara and his sister, Facts of Life actress Nancy McKeon.
