Pose is sticking around!

The FX series created by Ryan Murphy has been renewed for a third season, Deadline confirms. The series stars Billy Porter, MJ Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, and Indya Moore.

“Pose has elevated our culture and the TV landscape like few shows before it, and we are honored to partner with co-creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals on a third season,” said John Landgraf, Chairman, FX Networks and FX Productions. “Our thanks to the entire creative team, including Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall, Sherry Marsh, Janet Mock, Our Lady J, Erica Kay, the amazing cast and crew and everyone at Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions for this incredibly entertaining, enlightening and groundbreaking series.”

Season two of Pose premiered just last week. You can catch new episodes of the show on Tuesday nights on FX at 10pm ET.

Billy Porter serves up a bullfighting-inspired look on the carpet while attending the season two premiere of his hit FX series Pose held on Wednesday (June 5) in New York City.

The 49-year-old actor was joined at the event by series producer-director Janet Mock, as well as co-stars Indya Moore, Angelica Ross, MJ Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Bianca Castro, Alexia Garcia, Jeremy McClain, Dyllon Burnside, Hailie Sahar, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Sandra Bernhard, Angel Bismark Curiel and writer Our Lady J.

Also in attendance to show their support were Billy‘s husband Adam Smith, Pose season one star Johnny Sibilly, Adina Porter, Raymond Braun, Andy Mientus, Damaris Lewis and Peppermint.

Billy, on having a show like Pose in 2019: “We’re dealing with this whole group of disenfranchised people that the world has really not heard their story before. It is breathtaking and when I say ‘so many’ I am a part of the LGBTQ community, I have been surrounded by these ladies and these men and still didn’t understand the magnitude. Here I am on set I’m going, ‘Oh my god the T in LGBTQ has largley been ignored by me’ not because I wanted to ignore it but I just, we came out, we went straight to the front lines to fight for our lives and our rights, the pill came, everybody got healthy then everybody moved on. It takes my breath away. These women and these men teach me what real authenticity is about.”

Rachel, on feminism in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Pose: “There has long been this ‘looking down on’ of all things feminine and female. I think that’s probably one of the reasons why I enjoyed watching your show so much, I feel like it tackled that as well in a really nuanced way and in a way that I hadn’t considered.”

Billy, on living in New York in the late ‘80s and how it was being openly gay in the late ‘80s: “It was a dark time, it was a dark dark time. We were living through a plague and it was a group of people that it felt like nobody cared about and that sort of cloud was hanging over the city in a really hard way. But the great part about it was that the choice to choose life anyway is such a powerful thing, it’s a powerful tool to have in life in general. You can’t have a testimony unless you have a test and so to have lived through that and to have been blessed to have lived and get on the other side of it.”

The return of Pose is less than a month away!

FX just released a new trailer for the upcoming second season of their hit series.

Season two picks up in 1990 on the day Madonna’s single “Vogue” was released, shining a spotlight on the ballroom community. The series will also continue to explore the HIV epidemic of that era.

The Ryan Murphy-created series stars Billy Porter, MJ Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, and Ryan Jamaal Swain.

Pose is officially back!

FX just released the first teaser for season two of Ryan Murphy‘s period dramedy about New York City’s ballroom scene.

The teaser didn’t give away much about the upcoming season, but did feature star Billy Porter explaining what’s going on for his character during this momentous time.

“Our community is trying to figure out how to stay positive. We’re going through a lot of stuff right now with the plague. I feel a change coming,” Billy says. “Joy is a choice. Choosing life in the darkest of times is a choice. That’s what the ballroom scene is about.”

For the second season, Pose moves ahead in time from the late 1980s to 1991, jumping right into the middle of the AIDS epidemic that would decimate the gay community.

Season two of Pose returns on Tuesday, June 11 on FX.

The Pose actors were joined by their co-stars Indya Moore, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Angelica Ross, Angel Bismark Curiel, Dyllon Burnside, and Hailie Sahar, as well as producers Janet Mock and Our Lady J.

Billy was joined on the carpet by his husband Adam Smith.

Pose won the award for Outstanding Drama Series at the event, beating out Billions, Black Lightning, Grey’s Anatomy, The Handmaid’s Tale, Instinct, Shadowhunters, Star, Supergirl, and Wynonna Earp.
