'The Interview' Brings In $15 Million From Online Viewings!

The Interview is enjoying a hugely successful VOD-run since becoming available earlier in the week to viewers.

The James Franco and Seth Rogen controversial comedy, which was rented or downloaded over 2 million, brought in $15 million online through Saturday (December 27) over the long holiday weekend.

The film also enjoyed a limited release in movie theaters, bringing in $3 million, Variety reports.

You can view the movie on YouTube, Google Play, Microsoft Xbox, and as of today, iTunes instantly.

North Korea is blaming the United States for shutting down the country’s internet and criticizing President Barack Obama for encouraging the Christmas release of The Interview following the cancellation of the movie.

Obama always goes reckless in words and deeds like a monkey in a tropical forest,” a spokesman from the National Defense Commission, North Korea’s top governing body led by Kim Jong-un, said in a statement.

The spokesperson added, “The U.S., a big country, started disturbing the Internet operation of major media of the DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea), not knowing shame like children playing a tag.”

North Korea has already faced two internet outages in the last week.

Seth Rogen Surprises Fans at First 'Interview' Showing (Video)

Seth Rogen and his co-writer/co-director Evan Goldberg surprise a crowd at the first public screening of their movie The Interview on early Thursday morning (December 25) at Cinefamily in Los Angeles.

“Thank you so f�”king much for coming,” Seth told the crowd at the midnight screening. “We thought this might not happen at all.”

“This is our neighborhood,” Evan added. “We live around here… The fact that it’s showing here and you guys all came out…”

“Is super f�”king exciting,” Seth continued. “So, we really wanted to say ‘thank you.’ If it wasn’t for theaters like this and for people like you guys, this literally would not be f�”king happening right now. So thank you.”

'The Interview' Now Available for Streaming in Canada!

Good news for people in Canada – you can now watch The Interview!

The movie’s star/co-writer/co-director Seth Rogen announced the news on his Twitter account on Wednesday evening (December 24) after the country was previously locked out from renting the movie on demand.

“CANADIANS! Sincere apologies but #TheInterview is not available 4 u 2 download yet BUT will be soon. We are working on it!” Seth wrote in the afternoon. See what he just said below.

'The Interview' Selling Out at Theaters Showing the Film!

The Interview showings are already selling out one day after news broke that theaters would be screening the film with Sony’s permission.

“We’re seeing filmgoers come out in droves,” Christian Parkes, chief branding officer for the Alamo Drafthouse theater chain said (via Variety). “I can’t imagine what the people at Sony have been through. But this is definitely the kind of publicity that you can’t buy. People were going to see the movie anyway but now they are telling us that they believe it’s their patriotic duty.”
