“It’s pretty nutty, right? It’s pretty crazy,” she said of the reaction to the movie.

“I’m not that brave…I don’t want to hear predictions. No, thank you,” she added with a laugh while insisting she wasn’t thinking about nor asking about numbers while making the film.

She also revealed that a sequel hasn’t been given the greenlight…yet.

“We’re still pushing this one out. Let’s have a little resting period, but just given the fact that all of us really want to do it, I’m sure when it’s the right time, we’ll start the conversation,” she teased.

Netflix recently revealed how many people watched the Charlize Theron movie…

Netflix Reveals How Many People Watched 'The Old Guard,' Charlize Theron's New Movie!

The Old Guard is Netflix’s latest hit movie and the streaming service just revealed how many people are expected to watch the film within the first four weeks of release.

Charlize Theron‘s action-packed movie was released on July 10 and Netflix says the movie is on track to reach 72 million households in its first four weeks.

The movie will end up at number six on the list of the Top 10 most-watched movies of all time on Netflix.

Gina Prince-Bythewood is also the first Black female director to have a movie on Netflix’s top 10 list.

A sequel hasn’t been confirmed yet, but based on the way the movie ended and the things that have been said by Charlize and Gina, we’re pretty sure it’s going to happen.

KiKi Layne Dishes On Action Choreography & Playing a Black, Female Hero For 'The Old Guard'

KiKi Layne steals a lot of the show in Netflix’s brand new film, The Old Guard.

The actress portrays Nile, a young, Black soldier who discovers her abilities after being killed in action while serving in Afghanistan, and joins the group of immortal mercenaries tasked with protecting humanity.

KiKi opened up in a about her role in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, stressing just how important it was to portray a Black, powerful hero on screen.

“For whatever reason, Hollywood has had a very limited view of what life is and what certain people in certain roles, what they look like, and this film basically says, ‘No. There is so much more room, so many more people who can fill these roles and tell these stories,’” KiKi shared. “I’m just looking at a point where it’s not just a surprise, where it’s like this is the world and our films should reflect it.”

She adds that the first time she got the script, there was no way she’d say no to it.

“When I read the script and her character popped up, I was like, ‘I’m in,’” KiKi says. “The fact that I get to put a young, Black, female hero into the world in a movie like this? Obviously, we know how rare it is. And we need to see ourselves like that. The world needs to see ourselves as heroes, to be inspired by and aspire to be.”

KiKi also spoke with THR about walking away so sore after going through action choreography training for the part.

“Man, I’ve never done anything like that in my life,” she confessed. “It was crazy. I mean, [my trainer] would seriously spend hours a day training me. I would train more in one day than a lot of people train in an entire week because there were so many different aspects of it. We’re learning the choreography, then we’re learning how to do different stunts and how to work with all of these different weapons.”

KiKi adds, “I also learned a lot of boxing, a lot of military and tactical training and information. So, definitely a lot got thrown at me. (Laughs.) But it was necessary, just because the physicality is such an extension of these characters. And then, for the older Old Guard members, they’ve been alive for so long that they kind of need to look like experts with all of this stuff.”

“So, all of us had to be super committed to the training and super committed to walking away with a few bumps and bruises and soreness in places that you didn’t even know could be sore. (Laughs.) But we had to do it because this story’s told in the right way.”

You can watch Kiki alongside Charlize Theron, Luca Marinelli, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Marwan Kenzari in The Old Guard, streaming now on Netflix.

Is 'The Old Guard' Getting a Sequel Movie? Charlize Theron Says...

When you finish watching the new Netflix movie The Old Guard, you’re immediately going to be ready to watch a sequel. So, will it happen?

Charlize Theron stars in the new comic book adaptation, which was directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. The Oscar-winning actress told Total Film, “We went into this talking about [a sequel] as a possibility, and it’s definitely something that excites us.”

We’re not going to reveal the spoilers in this post, but if you want a refresher on the movie’s ending, check out our explanation of that post-credits scene.

Gina teased what fans can expect in the sequel and she plans on remaining faithful to the second book in the series.

“It’ll be based on the graphic novel,” she told GamesRadar+. “In terms of what Greg has written, Quynh [the immortal hero who was trapped at the bottom of the ocean] has reared her head [as seen in the movie's last scene], and that causes some issues, absolutely. But also, there’s a very grounded story tackling problems within the world, which again brings more villains that are not with immortality, so it’s a really cool balance between the two, in the graphic novel.”

The Song in 'The Old Guard' Credits is Elle King's 'Baby Outlaw' - Listen Now!

The song that is used at the end of the new Netflix movie The Old Guard when the credits start rolling wasn’t actually written for the film, despite the lyrics fitting perfectly for the story.

Elle King‘s song “Baby Outlaw” is the song that is played when the credits start!

The song was released back in October 2018 and Elle wrote it with Greg Kurstin, who is one of Adele‘s frequent collaborators. The track is featured on her album Shake the Spirit.

“Well I ain’t nobody’s baby / Baby, I’m an outlaw / Call me a criminal, maybe / Baby, I’m an outlaw / You know I ain’t evil, but I ain’t a saint / Can’t help it, I was born this way,” Elle sings on the track.

You can download the song on iTunes or stream it below via YouTube.

Charlize Theron Tore Ligament Filming Stunts for Netflix's 'The Old Guard' & Waited 2 Months to Get Treatment!

Charlize Theron‘s film The Old Guard hits Netflix on Friday and we dug up an old interview where she revealed what happened during one of the stunts she filmed!

“This is so stupid. I did an action movie [The Old Guard] and I tore the ligament off the bone fighting,” Charlize said during a Jimmy Kimmel Live interview back in October. “I messed up my elbow, as well.”

Initially, Charlize walked around with the injury for two months before seeing a doctor. “I’ve been walking around with this injury for two months. How badass is that?” she said. “I didn’t know that it was anything. I just was like, ‘Toughen up. Come on.’ And then I was told by a doctor that it was basically just floating around and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s interesting. That’s why I’ve only been using these four fingers.’”

The Old Guard is full of stunts and it looks like Charlize did a bunch of them herself.
