Joaquin Phoenix Films New Scenes for 'You Were Never Really Here'

Joaquin Phoenix shoots some scenes for his upcoming movie You Were Never Really Here on Thursday (August 18) in Brooklyn’s Bay Ridge area in New York City.

The 41-year-old actor sported a disheveled look – including a bloody beard, long hair, and dirty clothes – while on set.

You Were Never Really Here tells the story of a former war vet who dedicates himself to saving women exploited by sex traffickers.

Also starring alongside Joaquin in the drama/thriller are Alessandro Nivola, Alex Manette, and Ekaterina Samsonov.

You Were Never Really Here will hit theaters in 2017.
