Get to Know 'Spongebob' Actor Gavin Lee with These 10 Fun Facts! (Exclusive)

Gavin Lee is a Tony-nominated actor who is currently starring in Broadway’s SpongeBob SquarePants and we caught up with the star to learn more about him!

Gavin is playing the role of Squidward Q. Tentacles in the musical and he is up for a Tony in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical category. You might have also seen him play Bert in the original cast of Mary Poppins on Broadway!

Here are 10 Fun Facts about him:

• 1. I’m a Londoner but I got married in the US in 2005, moved to the US in 2006 and finally became a citizen in 2017! (Oh say, can you seeeee…!)
• 2. Mustard and pickles gross me out big-time. But I love a pickled onion- go figure.
• 3. Watching any sort of repetitive motion, like someone knitting, makes me wanna jump outta my skin.
• 4. My first West End show was Bugsy Malone when I was 11.
• 5. I’ve owned a motorcycle or moped for most of my life.

• 10. I can’t sit down in my Squidward costume because of my extra legs(!) so the crew at SpongeBob kindly made me a special stool/seat that I can weirdly squat on! It’s quite a sight to behold.
