HBO Responds to 'Game of Thrones' Coffee Cup Mistake, Jokes Daenerys Actually Ordered Tea!

HBO is speaking out in response to coffee cup that was spotted in the latest episode of Game of Thrones, “The Last of the Starks.”

The cup of coffee, which fans incorrectly thought was from Starbucks, was spotted during the feast scene while Tormund was toasting to Jon Snow. It was sitting in front of Emilia Clarke‘s character Daenerys Targaryen.

“The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea,” HBO jokingly said in a statement.

The show’s art director Hauke Richter previously told Variety, “Things can get forgotten on set. [The coffee cup error has been] so blown out of proportion [because] it has not happened with Thrones so far.”
