Jenji Kohan is mourning the tragic death of her son Charlie.

The 20-year-old son of the Orange is the New Black creator died in a skiing accident on Tuesday (December 31) in Park City, Utah, TMZ reports.

Charlie was on vacation with dad Christopher Noxon and his two siblings when he fell while skiing. He was then taken by helicopter to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A statement from Park City Mountain via the Park Record said “a serious incident” took place “on the mountain” on Tuesday, “involving a 20-year-old male from Sherman Oaks, CA.” It did not identify the man.

“Park City Mountain, Park City Mountain Ski Patrol and the entire Vail Resorts family extend our deepest sympathy and support to our guest’s family and friends,” said Mike Goar, Park City Mountain vice president and chief operating officer.

Our thoughts are with Charlie‘s loved ones during this difficult time.
